Most of the alphabets (images) and the name of the language and its designation as a "Language of Meditation" was created and given by the late Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, my guru. Shumsanctuary.com's use of the language, its designation as a "Language for Meditation" and its alphabets (images) and Image-Portraits is based on the understanding that Shum is an universal language. In the book Twelve Shum Meditations, by Himalayan Academy 2007 a direct quote from my guru is given in the Preface.
Of the Shum language Gurudeva claims thus, "May Lord Siva be your guide through this study. It is His language. He and He alone knows how to teach it." Lord Siva is God to Whom I pray to as is the God of my guru.
All original content including Shum words and meanings created by Guhanatha Swami in ShumSanctuary.com will be attributed to the Rehnadee Shum dialect of Shum. Shum words and meanings created by my guru, the late Sivaya Subramuniyaswami that may be found in ShumSanctuary.com will be attributed to Mamadee Shum. ShumSanctuary.com only uses Mamadee Shum words that can be found among the publicly available content of himalayanacademy.com.
